There is one great approach to united ironies of the world of contemporary Korean lives, that is by coming to terms with these various and exhilarating palm-sized vignettes. The all-knowing model doctor's well-assorted longevity interests and accumulated nutritious expertise dominate the getting-to-know early scene. The 4-page story has a perfect mini narrative and feels like a very suddenly-sad and short detective story. The doctor's publisher drops in the doctor's household, and, as expected, happens upon pumpkins, green onions, white radishes, and the lotus root in the doctor's life-lengthening garden. The end, after a while in the doctor's household, is abruptly cut short by a completely Korean-household-ish situation, having to do with the everlasting mother-in-law and old-age energy.
