Known as “the Front Garden(Ap-ddeul)”, This is a singular place where you have to climb up, then to take your shoes off at the doorway and walk onto the warmed floor to taste the refreshment. There are two pavilions up on the other little mound right beside the cafe building: having filled up our mouths and stomachs we visited them and busily gathered pine cones for Christmas decoration (the cones being not up to snuff and dusty we had to throw them out when we got home).
Inside my mum and I had also been eager to taste once again their superior fruit tarts and oh, we were offered such all kinds of non-alcoholic beverage.
We got one of its celebrated chambers. The warmth of the cafe floor came with the ondol heating system under the floor, which is even nowadays in South Korea very unique for a cafe interior but most comfortable for the customers. In our room there were the low table and 4 exquisite seats. The part-time worker told my mum that sometimes people fell asleep who were staying cuddling up in cushion-full seats in our little celebrated chamber.
