A Glimpse into an actor's life in languages - the actor gets ready for his today's scenes

Hwang Gun.

In South Korea, there are lots of work in virtually every dramatic genre for this seasoned, versatile and ever-ready actor who graduated from Korea National University of Arts studying acting. Recently visiting his instagram, I had glimpses of two interesting, thought-out images: one of which showed him getting ready to act in a web sitcom "Your Neighborhood" and the other his recital of Shakespeare's Sonnet 18 in English.

Among the recent comic acts proudly stands the web sitcom. In the second-to-last episode, a problematic trio, spurred by one of them who is diagnosed as having rampant "future-nesia", signifying loss of future sense, storm a luxury restaurant. Gunni sits comfortably at the table and orders food in tongue-twisting French. This particular scene heightens the sense of humour with help from Hwang Gun's timely and multiple-punch comic acting.  The preparation part for "Your Neighborhood" was uploaded and deleted but you can still find the sitcom episodes online. See below.

The sonnet, fetching the listener high romance, leaves your heart warm (he usually does) Across from the sitcom, his acting muscles go in the other extreme direction with lyrical Shakespeare - but he pulls it off - which he says is the only English piece he knew by heart and performs it for an untact Netflix audition.

As mentioned, you can find the sitcom episodes at https://blog.naver.com/bigfrog114. There is no English subtitle. But still you can giggle a lot just watching the penultimate 11th episode, should you be able to read and click on "Your neighborhood" link in Korean on the left-side menu. The sonnet can be reached at hwanggun1 on instagram.
