In Korea

Calling All Bookworms

For a little less than a year, a little scheme has been called for four major Libraries in Suwon, sitting cosy in the bigger province, Gyeonggi-do. For example, visit the homepage of Changryong Library that's actually situated near one of Suwon's old city walls and you will find twelve mind-nourishing 1-minute introductory video's each of a book chosen and made by librarians, sourced from their backgrounds and with other information and details. (That is why they decided to call the service 'Book Trailer'.) They have already been seasonally uploaded since earlier this year, three at a time, to the public repository of the library's homepage and their facebook account.

Gyeonggi-do's public library and its cyber library offer other services such as The First Library of my Life, the Duru Duru, and a total informative website, www.BookMagic.kr, which is geared towards kids. Pregnant mums and mothers or fathers of children younger than 12 months can make use of The First Library of my Life delivery of a maximum of five books twice a month. With the Duru Duru, the name significantly signifying something like 'ubiquitous' in Korean, you as a disabled citizen can borrow the same number of books by delivery up to 5 times a month.

Phone Changryong Library at 031 228 4881. You can add '80' to the beginning of the number if you are not in Korea and want to find out something about them.
